Ever been to Goa? Then surely it won’t be a surprise to you that the whole Calangute- Baga stretch is one chaotic place, extremely crowded especially during the season’s hustle and bustle. Calangute is one spot tourists always flock to, and finding a good place to unwind and yet be close to that fun spot is difficult. It seems rather impossible. But my recent stay at Resort Primo Bom Terra Verde proved otherwise.
I stayed at Primo Bom for the weekend- A quick staycation I needed to unwind with and it did land me as a surprise seeing how this place was. One step into the resort and it directly transported me to the time I visited Kerala, the whole ambience of the place was so.

Primo bom is an Eco resort located on the Calangute-Baga road. As I said before the area is mostly crowded but the resort is not. It’s like a whole peaceful getaway on it’s own.
Now to speak about the property, it is truly massive, stretching over 9 acres of land. The whole property has around 48 wooden cottages. Now this may sound crowded and claustrophobic but in all concerns it is not.
Being constructed on a massive land area, the 48 cottages are placed at a distance from each other, non-clustered “socially distanced” ,which means hardly any disturbance from anybody.

To add to the beauty of the resort, it has 7 man-made lakes flowing through the entire length of the property, so that every cottage has a view of any 2 lakes at any given time. These lakes with the cottages on their banks frankly gave me that Kerala backwater vibes. The entire space around the cottages sees plants and flowers and a decently managed garden which really adds to the freshness of the whole place.

•Accommodation:
The cottages range from the standard cottage to the suites to fabric cottages which are ideal for big groups.
Interior of a standard cottage
This was the first time I was actually staying in a wooden cottage and I was impressed. Though it was monsoon, there was no strange woody smell or that damp feel of wood due to moisture (you know what I mean!). I must give it to them for the maintenance of the place. The standard cottages itself were very spacious and comfortable. Great as a work-from-home option too. Every cottage was equipped with an AC and the basic needed amenities.
I had a pretty leisurely day there, just loitering around the property, enjoying the warmth and ambience of the place, reading a book in the calm sitting on my favourite bench in the garden and watching random kids run along.

I enjoyed the numerous walks I took around the place too. Also watching the rain brush down gently while I enjoyed my coffee from the verandah was such a bliss. Primo Bom made a good option for oodles of my photography stunts without any disturbance too. The next morning there was peaceful for the fresh walks around the lakes. Primo Bom also has a huge pool one can chill out at as well as a children’s park for the little ones.

•What else?
There are numerous things to do around Resort Primo Bom Terra Verde. There’s good news for beach lovers here. Primo Bom lies within 1 km from the famed Calangute beach and around 2 Kms from Baga beach. Since I did not really want to visit the beach(being a local and been there numerous times) I chose to relax and just do nothing at the resort.
This pandemic has been tough on all our travel plans so a staycation at Primo Bom fitted perfectly in my ‘relaxstaycation’ need. While I miss travelling so this experience did make me feel that I was in a different world being in my hometown
Overall I could really calm and unwind here due to all that the resort had to offer- good ambience, great customer service and safety and hygiene, The only inconvenience was that their restaurant was under renovation for now but that wouldn’t be a problem since they allow outside food delivery services to help the guests out.
